I'm bored and I'm hungry...

Please don't judge me harshly. It's just past 9pm here, I'm completely and utterly bored, and I felt like eating... For your consideration above is an open baguette, with whole milk mozzarella, and... ketchup! I really just wanted something quick and easy. It doesn't get easier than this. This isn't the lowest level that I could sink to, though. A couple of months back, feeling very very hungry, but not that bored, I made a similar culinary triumph, but this time with hot dog buns.

I have to say I do actually have passata at home. But, why is that when your husband isn't home, do you have a compulsive need to open up a jar that absolutely refuses to open? These passata bottles are notorious for being difficult to open. Maybe it's an Italian thing... I need an Italian man around to sort me out. Hmmmn.

I really need to get my act together when it comes to these late-night boring sessions when Rafa's working. Don't get me wrong -- Rafa isn't exactly my only form of entertainment, but he seems to be working on nights where there is nothing on TV and worse, nothing in the fridge. Soon I'll find I'm making myself an amuse-buche out of Ritz crackers and cream cheese. Help me! I don't want to turn into Sandra Lee and enter a Semi-Homemade twilight zone of tablescapes. Heeelllllpppp!

Ilana, your snack seems positively upper class when I consider what I'm eating now I'm bored and hungry....

Do you get cheese footballs over there?

I rest my case.

kathryn, that is a very kind offer. thank you, and i will glad accept! LOL. :))
The only thing I am worried about is that I won't get to play it on my DVD as it is a different region but hopefully Rafa can work something out.

Keep in touch. My email is metooka7@hotmail.com.

If you have a computer with a DVD burner, there is software available to make a "back-up copy" which is region free. Otherwise, there is little hope of playing an R2 DVD on an American machine. Copyright laws make the acquisition of so-called region free DVD players next to impossible in the US.
There is a second option available, however. If you have room for a second DVD drive in your computer, you can change the region setting to R2 and play the disc and future discs without worry. I wouldn't suggest changing your main DVD drive as you have a finite number of setting changes, generally five times. When you've used them up, the drive is stuck in the final change.
